Easter Seals Bay Area has an immediate opening at our fully inclusive child development center on Hawthorne Street in San Francisco where we utilize a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum. We have a current opening for an Preschool Teacher. Teachers develop and maintain a classroom learning environment that allows for both individual and group activities. They are responsible for maintaining records of each child within their primary care group, including developmental assessments, documentation of parent meetings, and information describing each child?s accomplishments. Essential functions of this position: ?Work with the Lead Teacher and other teaching staff to develop and implement a curriculum that meets organizational standards and guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children ("NAEYC") ?Interact and guide children in a developmentally appropriate and positive manner, while emphasizing choice making and independent thought ?Develop and maintain an invigorating classroom learning environment that allows for individual play and group activities ?Keep appropriate records of each child within primary care group, including developmental assessments and documentation of parent meetings ?Promote and implement developmentally appropriate and healthy eating practices Education Requirements: ?Completion of 12 units from an accredited college in early childhood education or child development. Experience: ?Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare facility with an equivalent age group Other Requirements: ?Must be able to obtain criminal record clearance per Community Care Licensing and General Services Administration requirements ?Able to participate in staff training, including obtaining CPR and First Aid certifications Postion is hourly / non-exempt, and full time. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability; paid time away from work (holidays, vacation and sick time); and tuition reimbursement stipend. Hourly rate of pay will typically range from $15.00 to $16.00 / hour, depending in part on experience and educational background.
