Middle School Special Education Teacher--Immediate Start -

Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public is seeking a middle school special educator for an immediate opening. We are a nationally recognized charter public school in our thirteenth year of operation with 475 students in grades 5-12. This year, we will also be graduating our eighth class of seniors, and fully expect to continue our rate of 100% college acceptance. We are looking forward to building on our past success on the MCAS, which 100% of our 10th graders pass, and on which over 90% score advanced or proficient. Our mission is to empower urban students of all racial and ethnic backgrounds to achieve their full intellectual and social potential by combining the best of the East ? high standards, discipline and character education ? with the best of the West ? a commitment to individualism, creativity, and diversity. We prepare all of our students for college, though our rigorous academic program and our focus on character education. We are seeking dedicated, dynamic, engaging educators to join our faculty and be a part of creating our culture of achievement! All teachers will: *Model and instill in students the values of the school *Teach multiple small groups of pull-out support *Co-teach in English and Math *Consult weekly with content area teachers *Monitor accommodations and modifications for each student on the caseload *Serve as an advisor and homeroom teacher *Communicate regularly with families regarding students? progress *Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to ensure the success of each student *Uphold and support all school policies and procedures *Continue to work to improve their craft *Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to continually reflect on and improve the school Qualifications: *Bachelor?s Degree, at minimum *Successful completion of MTEL exam *Licensure in Moderate Special Needs preferred *At least two years full-time classroom experience preferred *The belief that all students can learn and go to college *The commitment to ensure each student?s success The Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
