Middle School Special Education Teacher--Immediate Start -
Location: Boston, MA
Description: Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public is seeking a middle school special educator for an immediate opening.
We are a nationally recognized charter public school in our thirteenth year of operation with 475 students in grades 5-12. This year, we will also be graduating our eighth class of seniors, and fully expect to continue our rate of 100% college acceptance. We are looking forward to building on our past success on the MCAS, which 100% of our 10th graders pass, and on which over 90% score advanced or proficient.

We prepare all of our students for college, though our rigorous academic program and our focus on character education.

All teachers will:
*Model and instill in students the values of the school
*Teach multiple small groups of pull-out support
*Co-teach in English and Math
*Consult weekly with content area teachers
*Monitor accommodations and modifications for each student on the caseload
*Serve as an advisor and homeroom teacher
*Communicate regularly with families regarding students? progress
*Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to ensure the success of each student
*Uphold and support all school policies and procedures
*Continue to work to improve their craft
*Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to continually reflect on and improve the school
Qualifications:
*Bachelor?s Degree, at minimum
*Successful completion of MTEL exam
*Licensure in Moderate Special Needs preferred
*At least two years full-time classroom experience preferred
*The belief that all students can learn and go to college
*The commitment to ensure each student?s success
