Job Title: Preschool Teacher
Company:
Location: Sacramento, CA

Description:
We are looking for a highly energetic, creative preschool teacher for a small, loving, home preschool in Folsom. This position is for Fall 2010 (starting in August 2010) with possible summer science camp program hours. Our school is based upon hands-on learning through fun, active play with a final goal of Kindergarten Readiness. We believe that children learn best by doing! You must be ready to play and get dirty. We are strictly a school and not a daycare serving 3 to 5 year olds in 2-day and 3-day 3 hour programs. We are looking for either one main teacher if someone has the availability, or we are willing to hire 2-3 teachers to split the classes. (There will also be an assistant teacher in each class.) The programs are 3-4 yr on Tu/Th 8:05-11:05 and 11:25-2:25 and 4-5 (pre-K) MWF 8:05-11:05 and 11:25-2:25. As mentioned, this position can be split with another teacher(s) to allow for a flexible work schedule. We are able to allow such flexibility at this time since we are going to be a brand new program for fall 2010. Teachers who are hired now will have the greatest flexibility in choosing their schedules. This head teacher should have at least 12 ECE units and a minimum of 2 years experience in a preschool setting. Will need to be CPR and first aid certified. We are using a program similar to Zoophonics as a springboard, but with many supplementary materials and activities as we believe that active hands-on learning is the best method for the preschool age group. We are open to teachers contributing to the program as everyone has their own ideas and teaching styles. There will be lots of art, science, music, and play time. The nice thing about working for a program like this is that when the school day is done, you are done working (as opposed to teaching in public schools). Wages will be based upon experience, but the head preschool teacher pay will be about $12-$15. Each class will have a maximum of 12 students per class with a ratio of 6:1 (so there will be a teacher and an assistant). We are currently collecting resumes and will be starting interviews soon for the most qualified individuals. Please email a letter of intent and resume (along with letters of recommendation if you have them) to be considered for an interview to Register to View Individuals who either have just experience without the ECE units, or just the ECE units without experience may apply for the assistant teacher(s) position with a salary range of $10-$13/hour DOE. These interviews will begin after head teacher(s) are hired.
