Infant / Toddler Preschool Teachers (Multiple Openings)
Educare DC has been awarded a new grant through the Office of Head Start to provide high-quality education and support services for young children in the District of Columbia. To meet the needs of our grant, we are hiring multiple Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Teacher Aides to work with infants and toddlers in 10 new classrooms in Ward 7. We are hiring immediately and may be able to offer flexible start dates.
As a Preschool Teacher, you will guide an Assistant Teacher and Aide to create a safe and structured learning environment within our comprehensive play-based program. You will help our children gain the skills necessary for success in school and life while you grow professionally as part of a team of dedicated early childhood educators. The work done through this grant will strengthen Educare DC’s contribution to making the District of Columbia a place where young children can grow, thrive, and prepare for success in school and in life.
This new program joins our flagship school and our child care partnership (CCP) program, increasing Educare DC’s capacity to now serve a total of 424 children from prenatal through age 5 years. This grant will allow Educare DC to provide an array of services, including high-quality early learning, health and wellness, and early intervention and family support services, to children during this important period of development.
Our school is part of the Educare Learning Network (ELN), made up of 24 high-quality early childhood schools across the country. Our school’s model emphasizes data utilization, high-quality teaching practices, embedded professional development, and intensive family engagement. Each classroom has three teachers and is supported by an instructional coach as well as our health and family engagement teams.
