Hiring Lead Teachers in all age groups for our new location!! About us Established in 2004, Alphabet Academy/The Nest has grown to five schools to satisfy the high demand for a unique and joyful, progressive early learning experience. Using Emotionally Responsive Practices as the foundation of our social and emotional teaching practice, our Greenfield Hill site will partner with families with children from one-year-old through kindergarten to provide the entire family with an unmatched holistic learning experience. We employ almost 100 of the areas finest early education teachers and advocates, and support them in on-going and rigorous continuing education that embraces authentic and proven progressive educaring. The Nest/Alphabet Academy is a forward-thinking, Reggio-inspired early learning center. We are seeking a passionate teachers to join the talented, dynamic staff at our Fairfield location. We provide extensive opportunities for teacher development (professional, emotional, and physical), provide paid time outside of the classroom for team and individual planning time, and profoundly respect the ever-evolving art of teaching and learning. We are excited to mentor, learn from, and partner with like-minded professionals who have diverse backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles. The ideal candidate would demonstrate:
- Reggio Emilia-inspired play-based curriculum
- Emotionally responsive teaching embedded into everything we do
- Chef-run, open kitchen at the heart of our schools
- Generous outdoor play spaces in nature
- Large vegetable gardens and compost
- Bi-weekly yoga
- Parent and family coaching and education

- Working knowledge of positive discipline, R.I.E, and/or emotionally responsive strategies
- Intentional teaching practices that are grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach
- An eagerness for project-based learning that is child-led
- An associate's, bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood education/development or related field
- Enthusiasm about nature-based learning, outdoor play in all weather and terrain, and farm-to-table gardening
- Strong classroom management skills
- A solid understanding of child development
- A warm and playful demeaner
