Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract

Position Details
This full-time opportunity involves 35-40 hours weekly, focusing primarily on elementary and middle school students. Your caseload will include 40-50 students with various disabilities, requiring expertise in differentiated instruction, behavioral support, and academic intervention strategies.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and objectives
- Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavioral supports
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments and academic evaluations
- Facilitate virtual IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide consultation to general education teachers for inclusive practices
- Track student progress through data collection and analysis
- Communicate regularly with families to support home-school partnerships
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children, or related discipline
- Current Ohio special education teaching license with appropriate endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of K-12 special education teaching experience
- Demonstrated competency in virtual teaching methodologies
- Knowledge of special education regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Technical proficiency with online learning platforms and assistive technologies
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in multi-categorical special education settings, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, or specific learning disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and research-supported interventions is highly valued.
