About the School:
LEtoile is a French immersion school accredited by the AEFE and located in Portland, Oregon. We provide a bilingual and bicultural education for students from preschool through 5th grade, following the French national curriculum with instruction primarily in French. Students receive English instruction 5 days a week to support their development in both languages. Classes are an hour long and once a week, with a 30 minute bilingual lesson taught with the French homeroom teacher once a week.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a full time English Teacher to teach English language and literacy to students in Grades 2 through 5.. The English Teacher will collaborate with French-speaking teachers to support a bilingual learning environment and foster strong foundational English skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate English lessons aligned with grade-level standards.
- Develop students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English.
- Assess and monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and language backgrounds.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff about student progress.
- Collaborate with the French-speaking teaching team to ensure continuity across the bilingual curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Teaching credential or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English, preferably at the elementary level.
- Experience working with multilingual or English language learners is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting a bilingual and multicultural learning environment.
