What You'll Do:

• Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education
• Provides instruction in science and individual assistance
• Assesses educational needs of inmates
• Develop lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
• Provides instruction and individual assistance
• Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
• Maintains discipline and/or security
• Counsel's students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
• Attend meetings as required
• Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
• Inventories and orders supply and materials needed
• Research, selects and recommends new teaching materials
• Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
• Performs other duties as assigned

Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for social studies & grade level to be assigned; Teacher 1, 71311, must also have baccalaureate degree or less; Teacher 2, 71312, must also have a baccalaureate degree & 20 additional quarter hrs. but less than master's degree; Teacher 3, 71313, must also have master's degree; Teacher 4, 71314, must also have master's degree & 30 hrs. of post-graduate study.
