ELA Teacher (Middle School- Grade 6-8)

Middle Village Prep is a 6th through 8th grade charter school in Middle Village Queens. We are located on the Christ the King High School Campus with a focus on serving the surrounding community.

We are currently looking for a NYS Certified ELA Teacher for Grades 6-8 who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level team.

The position requirements are as follows:

Candidate is to be responsible for the delivery of ELA Common Core Curriculum based lessons to students
responsible for the planning of the yearly ELA Scope and Sequence, lesson planning and lesson delivery for the entire school year.
Ideal candidates for this role must possess a deep understanding of grade level appropriate content knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons day in and day out.
Provide a range of instructional, management, and assessment strategies to meet the different needs of students
Create thoughtful and engaging unit and lesson plans daily
Complete progress reports and report cards in accordance with the schedule
Attend and actively participate in all meetings including, grade level meetings, and PD.
Participate in creating, revising, administering, and grading assessments
Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed, as well as on-going parent communication

Ideal candidates must possess at minimum an Initial Certificate in teaching ELA Grades 7-12

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,630.00 per year
