Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Two Special Education Teacher Positions - K-12 School in Hewitt, TX (Contract, School Year) This opportunity is for experienced Special Education Teachers to support elementary and high school students in both self-contained and resource/inclusion settings. Positions offer paraprofessional support where applicable and involve working with diverse caseload sizes based on assignment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs) for students in self-contained classrooms or resource/inclusion settings. Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel to implement effective teaching strategies. Manage a caseload of 10-12 students if self-contained, or 60-70 if in resource/inclusion roles. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and team members. Attend professional development and staff meetings as required. Qualifications: Valid Special Education licensure in the state of Texas. For Texas Special Education teachers, a generalist certification or equivalent experience to meet certification standards. Experience working with elementary and high school students in special education settings. Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and school staff. Strong organizational and communication skills. Work Hours: Elementary School: 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM High School: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM This is a contract position for the current school year, offering the chance to make a significant impact on student learning and development.
