Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Meet with Program Director to review curriculum plans and activities and evaluate the program's effectiveness as needed. Post the weekly lesson plan by Monday mornings before your classroom opens. Send out monthly family newsletters. Use folders to communicate daily with families.

  2. Responsible for implementing the center's policies and procedures, licensing rules and regulations, and NAEYC and Paths to Quality performance standards in the day-to-day operation of an early childhood development center (6 weeks-12years of age), including developmentally appropriate practices for an infant/toddler program, 3-5-year-old program, and/or a developmentally appropriate school-age program(when available).

  3. Responsible for the implementation of developmental screenings within the scheduled educational timeline for Ages & Stages and observations.

  4. Maintain records of each child's progress and development to support planning and compliance with NAEYC Standards.

  5. Responsible for recording and record-keeping of information required to document the growth and development of children.

  6. Responsible for putting items into Brightwheel and communicating with families about their child. You will do health checks, meals, potty/diapering, and you will post 2 pictures per child, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

  7. Responsible for completing daily health checks on each child twice a day. You will use the forms in the classroom to mark any bruises, scratches, or bumps that the child has visibly on them.

  8. Responsible for completing a daily health check on Brightwheel when a child arrives each day. You will check their temperature, ask how they are feeling, and mark it in Brightwheel.

Two teachers should never be on the same side of the room unless all children are with you. You are responsible for completing the active supervision every hour. This is done on your magic number board in the classroom. You will record the time and the number of children present.
