    Position/Title: .5 Paraprofessional - Early Childhood Program

    Type of Employment: Part-time 26/27 School Year, Millburn Elementary

    Qualifications:

    A. No experience is required, but would be beneficial.

    B. Applicant must have the Illinois State Board of Education Paraprofessional Approval.

    C. If a particular position requires a unique skill, the new employee will be required to either possess that skill, or be trained by the employer.

    Direct Supervisor: Classroom Teacher/Program Administrator

    Overview: A Paraprofessional is directly responsible to the Early Childhood Teacher or other licensed personnel and accordingly supports the teacher in carrying out assignments as part of the daily routine. All duties and responsibilities are under the supervision of licensed personnel. Paraprofessional attendance at meetings regarding the child is at the discretion of the Program Administrator.

    Performance Responsibilities:

    * 1. Assist the teacher in the implementation of students' educational and social/emotional goals.

    * 2. Assist and supervise students in small groups under the supervision of the teacher.

    3. Assist teacher with the implementation of program and students behavior management.

    4. Assist in record keeping, preparing work materials, learning materials and data collection.

    5. Assist and supervise students with loading and unloading buses, toileting, lunch, recess, snacks and self-help skills etc.

    6. Know pertinent SEDOL policies, school, and classroom rules which have been provided.

    7. Observe policy of confidentiality regarding knowledge of students.

    * 8. Maintain regular daily attendance.

    9. Perform other duties necessary for overall success of the program.

    Salary: $21.67 - $28.57 per hour based on education and experience.
