Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher serving multiple school sites in the Lancaster, SC area from July 27, 2026, through May 28, 2027. This role offers the opportunity to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels in a variety of special education settings. Responsibilities include: Providing instruction in moderate to complex special education classrooms and co-taught resource rooms Collaborating with general education teachers to support diverse learning needs Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching strategies to meet student goals Working in elementary classrooms (8:30 AM - 3:35 PM), middle school classrooms (7:30 AM - 2:45 PM), or high school settings (8:30 AM - 3:35 PM), including part-time options at the middle school level (18-20 hours/week) Supporting multi-category self-contained classrooms and resource rooms tailored to varying student needs Qualifications: Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License with Multi-Category or other required certifications Experience working with a range of age groups and disabilities within special education settings Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff and families Ability to implement differentiated instruction and support positive student outcomes Benefits: Contract position with steady hours throughout the school year (35-37.5 hours/week depending on assignment) Opportunity to work onsite with schools providing direct student interaction Professional growth through supporting diverse learners across grade levels Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a blinded resume, copies of certifications, and indicate their preferred age group for placement.
