MSAD 54 is seeking an energetic, student-centered Elementary Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Mill Stream Elementary School. Our elementary physical education program focuses on developing fundamental movement skills, teamwork, personal responsibility, and healthy habits. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging instruction that promotes:

Inclusive and Adaptive Programming

A key component of this role is ensuring equitable access to physical education for all students. The Elementary Physical Education Teacher will:

  • Plan and implement adaptive physical education (APE) programming for students with diverse learning and physical needs
  • Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, and classroom teachers to support individualized student goals
  • Modify activities and environments to ensure all students can safely and meaningfully participate
  • Support inclusive practices that promote confidence, independence, and success for every learner

Qualifications

  • Maine Teacher Certification (or eligibility) in Physical Education
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
