Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  1. Develops and administers science curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  2. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to provide customized, small and large group instruction.
  3. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  4. Build relationships with students to help encourage success, increase self-esteem and cultivate a sense of belonging in school and community.
  5. Course load may include Chemistry and Introduction to Physical Science.

Certification/License:
Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification. 350S (Required). Dual certification preferred.
Must meet federal definition of a Highly Qualified teacher for the position assigned.
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

Education:
Bachelor of Science Physical Science
Masters Degree in related area preferred.

Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
