Special Education Paraprofessional

The Richland R-IV School District is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This position plays a vital role in supporting the success and inclusion of students with special needs across educational settings.

Position Type: Full-time

Location: Richland R-IV Schools

Job Responsibilities:

Provide instructional and behavioral support to students with IEPs under the direction of certified special education teachers

Assist students with academic tasks, daily routines, social skills, and mobility as needed

Support classroom accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology use

Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and transportation

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and special education policies

Minimum Qualifications:

60 college credit hours or passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis exam (or willingness to complete)

Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred

Patience, strong communication, and a team-oriented mindset are essential

Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and staff direction
