Job Title: Summer School Math Teacher
Grade Level: : Middle School 5th - 8th
Schedule: July 6 - July 31, 2026 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Application Deadline: Open until filled
Pay Range: $3,000 - Stipend
Class Title: Part Time
Supervision Received: School Level Administration
Supervision Exercised: None
Anticipated Summer School Math Teacher: Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment.
General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:
* Teaches content and skills in school Mathematics.
* Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
* Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
* Organize students for effective instruction.
* Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
* Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
* Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
* Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
* Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
Qualifications:
* Experience:
* Experience working with the ALEKS learning platform, including proficiency in managing assignments, monitoring progress, and supporting implementation.
* Knowledge of curriculum design, lesson planning, and pedagogy, experience preferred.
* Experience in innovative, problem based instruction preferred.
* Education:
* Bachelor's degree
* Certification & Licensing:
* Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
* Authorized to work in the USA
