Job Title: Summer School ELA Teacher
Grade Level: : Middle School 5th - 8th
Schedule: July 6 - July 31, 2026 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Application Deadline: Open until filled
Pay Range: $3,000 - Stipend
Class Title: Part Time
Supervision Received: School Level Administration
Supervision Exercised: None
Anticipated Summer School ELA Teacher: Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment.
General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:
* Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, reading, and journalism students, utilizing a standards based course of study developed by the English Department.
* Facilitates programs and monitors implementation of curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
* Follow the standardized follow-up plan to ensure implementation and best practice in the classroom.
* Works closely with District, Elementary, High School and Middle School Administrators.
* Receives, distributes and maintains inventory for all books, supplies and equipment in the classroom.
* Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Experience:
* Knowledge of web-based alternative learning programs is preferred.
* At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
* Education:
* Bachelor's degree
* Certification & Licensing:
* Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
* Authorized to work in the USA
* Current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
