R 3195 Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher Assistant - BUES

THIS POSITION IS A LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE for the remainder of the 25-26 SY

JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of post secondary education required; two years or more preferred.

Interest in and understanding of children.

Early childhood or kindergarten experience very helpful

Such alternative to the above qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

2. Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.

3. Assist with such large group activities as drill work, reading aloud and story telling.

4. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.

5. Other duties as assigned by the teacher or Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract

SALARY: Per Contract
