Job Description

The Centerpoint School District is accepting applications for a High School Math and Computer Science teacher. Applicants should hold, or be willing to obtain, Secondary Math certification and be willing to become certified in Computer Science. Centerpoint School District operates on a 4-day school week (Monday-Thursday, with Fridays off). Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of inclusive practices

Create a safe and orderly classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students

Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure

Plan instruction designed to promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth and development of children; formatively assess student progress and modify instructional techniques; plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students; refer children to support services within the community as needed.

Guide the learning process toward the achievements of curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; integrate skills into units and learning centers in the classroom

Promote the community spirit of the School by being responsible to the needs of the administration, staff, and children of the School at all times; use language that is encouraging and constructive in tone and volume when communicating with children or parents.
