The Campus Laboratory School at Carlow University is seeking a dedicated and innovative Middle School Math Teacher to join our team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the Pennsylvania State Standards for Mathematics as they relate to middle-level content and will create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that incorporate technology integration and hands-on instructional activities. Teachers are expected to demonstrate proactive and positive classroom management, utilize instructional best practices, and develop a comprehensive, well-rounded instructional program.
Effective communication with families and colleagues, along with the ability to collaborate within a team environment, is essential. The ideal candidate is student-centered and able to design and implement meaningful classroom experiences that foster engagement and achievement.

Essential Functions
- Maintain positive and proactive communication with families.
- Plan, prepare, and facilitate engaging, research-based instructional activities and assessments, with technology integration as a key component.
- Create a positive educational climate that supports student learning.
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Maintain gradebooks and student information systems.
- Remain current on educational trends and topics, particularly those related to technology integration and instructional innovation.
- Create lesson plans that include competencies, goals, assessments, differentiation strategies, and objectives.
- Utilize curriculum resources that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
- Develop and implement proactive classroom management practices that foster a culture of learning.
- Build professional relationships with colleagues, external agencies, and educational programs.
- Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Prepare and distribute required reports in a timely manner, meeting all required deadlines.
- Demonstrate commitment to the highest level of integrity and uphold values complementary to the mission of The Campus Laboratory School, Carlow University, and the Sisters of Mercy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs.
Other Non-Essential Functions
- Write grant proposals to secure funding for programs and instructional activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.
- Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required in one of the following:
- Elementary Education with a focus on Mathematics
- Middle Level Mathematics
- Secondary Mathematics
- Appropriate Mathematics certification required.
- Master's degree preferred
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification required
- Minimum Related Experience
- Experience incorporating current instructional technology into daily lessons.
- Prior classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification, dependent upon grade level taught
- All required clearances
