Qualifications:

  • Current California Adaptive Physical Education Teacher certification is required
  • Experience working with students across various age ranges, particularly TK-8th grade

  • Ability to assess students individual needs and develop appropriate activity plans
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver adaptive physical education lessons tailored to student IEP goals
  • Work onsite with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours
  • Assess motor skills and physical functioning; document progress and update goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on strategies for student success
  • Modify activities, provide appropriate equipment, and ensure safety and engagement for all students
  • Serve as a resource on adaptive PE for colleagues and contribute to professional learning communities
