Special Education Teacher in Durham, CT

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience crafting and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt to varying student needs
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
• Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and deliver individualized lessons to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to promote growth
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure student success
• Maintain detailed and accurate records, including IEPs, progress notes, and assessment data
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages learning and self-advocacy
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
