Extended School Year Teacher, Middle School 5th Quarter DATES: 7/6/2-8/6/26HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:30-11:30 amREPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and Middle School Principal or designeeProvide a program for students who are in jeopardy of failing middle school coursework that allows them to demonstrate mastery of ELA and Math grade-level standards. Students will be required to produce materials that demonstrate mastery at the end of the 5-week program. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Plan and Implement Curriculum2. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.3. Plan and implement activities that meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of their students4. Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities5. Monitor and support individual needs. 6. Implement IEP, collect data for goals7. Maintain safe, clean, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environments8. Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms9. Maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism at all times10. Maintain compliance with all state regulations related to the Massachusetts DESE11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents12. Performs other duties as assignedCOMPENSATION: $ 3,500 stipend for working the full 8:30-11:30 program. Compensation will be paid at the conclusion of the program. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification Successful teaching experience. Experience modifying and differentiating curriculum for students within sub-separate and inclusion classes. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators. Teachers must commit to being present for each day of the program.
