Special Education Assistants - All Grade Levels

ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY ONLINE AT: school graduatePreferably college experienceExperience working with childrenMust be able to lift 30 poundsREPORTS TO:Teacher(s) assignedCONFERS WITH:Teacher(s), Specialists, and Building AdministratorJOB GOAL:To implement instructional activities and programs as directedPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with students individually, in small groups, or in large groups as necessary and as prescribed by the immediate supervisor.Classroom and Support Assistants: Usually work with students in the general school population.Special Education Assistants: Usually work with students with identified special needs, or who require additional educational assistance as defined in an individual education plan (IEP). Assistants provide support in the appropriate educational setting.Demonstrate a continuous sensitivity to the needs of children to whom they are assigned.Carry out instructional or developmental activities suggested by the teacher, specialist, or others designated by the building administrator.Maintain competency and skills through a variety of available offerings.Educational Assistants may be responsible for personal care needs of student(s)Educational Assistants may be expected to obtain and maintain CPI (Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: To be established by the school board by August 20th.2021-2022 HOURLY SALARY: $16.20 plus $.75 for a certification from the NH Department of Education as a paraeducator II or as a teacher.HOUR/DAY: 6.5SCHOOL YEAR 182 days/yearEVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated no less than annually by the building administrator and immediate supervisor(s).
