MAGDALENA, NM Join our team and help shape the future of our students! We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide effective educational programs for students with disabilities.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Special Education Teacher supports school administrators and teachers in providing quality instruction. This role assumes responsibility for the application of appropriate curriculum and instructional programs for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and district due process policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teaching & Learning: Model and support special education instructional staff in implementing Common Core and adapted curricula.
• Classroom Management: Improve classroom climate through effective instructional methods, monitoring, and model teaching.
• Inclusion & Advocacy: Ensure students are receiving instruction in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) and assist staff in organizing specialized strategies.
• Collaboration: Participate in professional learning activities and work closely with staff, parents, and the community to increase student achievement.
• Culture: Promote a positive, purposeful school culture and encourage high standards in all aspects of school life.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensure: Must possess and maintain a minimum Level One Special Education Teaching License.
• Reports To: Program Director/designee or Principal.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of child development, ability to manage diverse classroom needs, and commitment to district policies.

REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS

• Background Check: Successful candidates must pass a comprehensive criminal and FBI fingerprinting background check.
• Compliance: Adherence to all federal and state special education regulations.
