    About Camden Hills Regional High School

    Camden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves approximately 700 students in grades 9 12. The school offers an incredibly expansive array of educational experiences for students and is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high-quality, diverse staff.

    Position Summary

    Zenith is our off-site Alternative Education program that provides alternative learners with a creatively individualized educational environment. We aim to develop within our students a strong sense of respect for self, others and community. These skills are fostered through experiential, community-based learning, student independence and responsibility, and the ongoing development of effective problem solving and group processing strategies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established dynamic team. The Zenith team provides hands-on alternative educational experiences for their students and are constantly searching for innovative and effective strategies to meet academic as well as the social and emotional needs of students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Physical, earth and/or life sciences and algebra, geometry and/or financial literacy courses.
    • Contribute to a project-based learning environment.
    • Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
    • Evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
    • Effectively communicate with students, peers, parents, and administrators.
    • Support students' development of academic, organizational, and self-advocacy skills

    Qualifications/Skills

    • Possess knowledge of the diverse ways in which students learn and develop
    • Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and wellbeing
    • Adapt to student needs
    • Communicate effectively
    • Desire ongoing professional development and improvement

    Requirements

    • Background check, including fingerprinting
    • Maine Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Mathematics (300), Physical Science (350), and/or Life Science (395) for grades 7 - 12 required (or show evidence of Maine Certification eligibility).

    Pay and Benefits

    • Pay starts at $52,686 (step B - 0) annually with possibility of increase based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
