Special Education Teacher, Carver County Jail (Homebound Services)

The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a Full-Time opening for a Special Education Teacher providing services at Carver County Jail in Chaska, MN for the 2026-27 School Year.

Description:
Licensed Secondary Teacher (not content area specific at this time), 8 hours a day for 185 Contract Days.

Educate, plan, teach, and facilitate learning in a JDC environment. This role also involves providing homebound services, most often conducted virtually.

Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s)

Qualifications :

• Candidates should hold a secondary teaching license in Minnesota.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to build successful relationships with students and staff.
• .Experience working in a JDC environment is preferred but not required.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.

Pay & Benefits:
