Nature Based Preschool Teacher

Summer positions available.Must be available Mon-Thurs 8:30 am-1:15pmProgram description: Turn Back Time is a nonprofit helping individuals to recognize natures ability to teach and heal. Our EEC licensed preschool program runs from September to June in all weather conditions. We are a cross between a forest kindergarten, a nature preschool, and a farm education program. As a rule we spend more than 75% of our day outside. Turn Back Time sees unstructured outdoor play as its main vehicle for teaching. We are an integrated program, giving children with special needs an opportunity to interact with peers in a supportive environment. The natural setting of the farm is a great equalizer because in nature children are not constrained by any diagnosis, disorder, shape, size or age.Responsibilities:Direct care of children in our nature-based settingSupport Lead Teacher in planning and implementing nature-based activitiesCreates classroom management expectations to help keep the flow going during group activities.Manage classroom behaviorsDocument programming through photography and upload to parent appEstablish and maintain relationships with other staff, families and the communityAttend community events held on the farmOrganization/clean up/maintaining classroom orderCandidates must be available for staff meetings, community events and able to work school vacations in Feb/AprilSkills:Early childhood Teacher Certified Must be resilient, comfortable with being outdoors in all weather majority of dayNature preschool/forest kindergarten experience a plus, not necessaryFirst aid/CPR certifiedJob Type: Part-timePay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
