Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher at the middle school grade levels. The successful candidate will provide instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs across multiple grade levels. This role includes co-teaching in general education classrooms and providing resource room instruction for either Language Arts or Math.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with general education teachers to plan and implement effective co-teaching models in inclusive classrooms
Provide small-group and individualized instruction in a resource room setting
Deliver multisensory reading instruction using structured literacy approaches, if needed
Support student growth in reading, writing, and/or mathematics aligned with IEP goals
Modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of performance and interventions
Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and parent conferences as needed
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
Possess certification in either English or Mathematics Specialization
Experience with middle school students preferred
Experience with co-teaching and differentiated instruction
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively across multiple grade levels and with a variety of student needs
