Our Mission Statement:
Jackson Hole Classical Academy develops within its students the intellectual and moral foundations upon which responsible, independent and productive lives are built. Through rigorous, content-rich curriculum, the Academy sets high expectations for all students, encourages good habits and enables students to reach their full academic potential.

The Academy can be summarized in three words: Classical, Christian, Independent:
Classical
Classical education uses the three-part process of training the mind called The Trivium. The mind must first be supplied with facts and images, then given the logical tools for organization, and finally equipped to express conclusions. Classical education is dedicated to cultivating wisdom and virtue in its students by immersing them in a culture that listens intently to the wisdom of the past. We use the E.D. Hirsch “Core Knowledge” scope and sequence as our curriculum map and layer upon that Socratic pedagogy and classical curricula.
Christian
We honor the biblical vision that respects the dignity of the human person and upholds that love of God and love of neighbor are the highest virtues. This vision marks the historic center of our culture and guides our commitment to the flourishing of each child who walks through our doors. Our leaders and teachers embrace and model the basic tenets of Christianity, but we believe that family and religious institutions should be the primary source of spiritual instruction and the role of our school to support, not supplant that instruction.
Independent
The Academy receives no state or federal funding; it is supported by tuition fees and tax-deductible philanthropic contributions. In recognition that students from any financial background can thrive at the school, and also that an economically diverse student body itself provides educational value to all students, a scholarship fund exists to enable many students to attend. We use a third party system to evaluate financial need. The Academy has received guidance and insight from members of the founding team of Great Hearts Academies, a non-sectarian charter school organization in Arizona and Texas. Great Hearts has proven that schools can do a superb job of educating students if expectations are set high for all through a core liberal arts curriculum. Jackson Hole Classical Academy seeks to create a model which can also be copied and replicated, particularly where laws are unsupportive of charter schools, and where communities prefer the inclusion of the Christian teachings and traditions which are intrinsic to the rise of Western Civilization.
