Houlton Southside School (Grades 3-6), 26-27 School Year

This is an exciting opportunity to lead students through a critical year of growth. As a Grade 3 Teacher, you
will guide students as they transition into more independent inquiry, fostering their development in core
subjects while encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and a love for reading. You will be responsible
for creating a positive, nurturing, and challenging learning environment that meets the diverse academic
and social-emotional needs of all students.

Key Responsibilities

? Develop and implement an engaging Grade 3 curriculum aligned with state standards.
? Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
? Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
? Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
? Implement consistent, restorative, and proactive management strategies to maintain a focused and
kind learning environment.

Qualifications

? Required: Valid 020 Certification (General Elementary, K-8).
? Prior experience teaching at the elementary or intermediate level is highly desirable.
? Strong content knowledge in Grade 3 subjects, particularly in foundational literacy and
mathematical reasoning.
? Excellent communication and organizational skills.
? A commitment to ongoing professional development.
