Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a 1.0 FTE Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Job Summary:
Provide instruction and service in gross motor skills in accordance with each student's ability and needs identified on their IEP. Evaluate students for eligibility for DAPE related services. Participate in IEP development related to DAPE needs. Support staff in developing and implementing gross motor accommodations to support students in physical education. Create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, and work collaboratively with other staff members.
Qualifications:
Current and valid MN teaching license in DAPE
Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
Strong classroom management skills
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff
Working Conditions:
Classroom, office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
