Special Education Teacher Jobs
A Special Education Teacher in the elementary education industry provides specialized instruction designed to meet the unique learning needs of students with various disabilities. They create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that outline the student's specific learning needs and the goals they are to reach. Certifications required may vary by location, but typically, they should have a bachelor's degree in special education, child psychology, or a related field. Many states also require licensing or certification in special education. Before becoming a Special Education Teacher, a person may have roles such as a Teacher Assistant, Special Education Paraprofessional, or an Inclusion Support Facilitator to gain relevant experience and skills.
